Approaching the Windmill
The windmill was in tremendous disrepair when the property was purchased. The roof had been leaking since its erection in 1902, every floorboard was rotten or brittle, and every window broken. The first project was to get the windmill weather-tight, and have a base of operations to start the repairs. The building was stripped, every floorboard removed, what could be salvaged was, and the structural integrity of the building shored up. The building was put back together in great part with materials that were originally part of it, a concrete footing and floor poured, new electrical installed, the building insulated, and interior finished. Now a workshop was ready to handle the massive project ahead.
